who we are
About Us
Health Logic Global, LLC, the developers of SickPredict™ App were inspired by these challenging times to do something different. They were determined to find a more proactive manner to determine if a person was getting sick before they had a temperature and other symptoms, which meant it was far too late.
Over the past several years, many highly respected universities and research institutions such as Stanford, Harvard, MIT and Scripps conducted extensive studies to test the ability of wearables to monitor and track health metrics to predict illness. Recently, additional research studies have demonstrated very positive results in the accuracy of predicting illness from health data that is extracted from your wearable like the Apple Watch, FitBit, Garmin, Oura and more. SickPredict™ App uses this research and calculates, in real-time, your personalized SickNumber™ to help anticipate any upcoming changes in your health in advance of experiencing symptoms!

Frequently Asked Questions

The SickPredict™ App calculates, in real-time, your personalized SickNumber™ to help anticipate any upcoming changes in your health in advance of experiencing symptoms! Your personalized SickNumber™ is based on the specific health metrics from your wearable. This process is possible because the SickPredict™ machine-learning algorithm learns more and gets more accurate the more you use it.
Yes. An iPhone 6 or newer is required.
Yes. It requires a wearable. The Apple watch has been extensively tested and works well to collect your most important biometrics. We are testing other wearables that might also work in the future.
It is highly recommended! Although it is not required to use your wearable at night or while you sleep, the results are significantly better if you consistently wear your watch during sleep because of the health and sleep data collected. SickPredict™ App’s accuracy increases significantly when using your wearable while sleeping.
You can expect to see an elevated SickNumber™ the next day, and in most cases, it will be overstated (possibly Yellow or Red). Your SickNumber™ should decrease throughout the day if there is no other underlying health issue.
It is important to consistently use your wearable to get the best results. Using your wearable while you sleep provides significantly better and more consistent results with the SickPredict™ App.
Although we have not tested every sleep app, we have successfully used Apple's sleep app, Pillow and SleepWatch, all are available for free on the Apple app store.
Yes. Wearables will not communicate data to Apple Health if they are locked during use.
Yes. If your phone is crashing and is not consistently tracking your data with Apple Health, then it may impact your SickNumber™ and could cause it to be elevated.
You will know it is working by monitoring your daily SickNumber™ and manually entering your body temperature if/when you get an elevated risk level. It is also recommended that you closely monitor your symptoms and how you feel.
Remember, the SickNumber™ is personalized to you. You should get to know your range of SickNumbers™ and what they mean for your health. A SickNumber™ of 5.5 (Yellow) for one person may mean something different than a 5.5 (Yellow) for another person. It is best to look at our SickNumber™ in relation to your personal history. Keep in mind the body is a very sophisticated machine, and as a result, we are seeing an accuracy level of ~80+%. So, there will be times when your SickNumber™ may not be 100% accurate.
Yes. The SickPredict™ App permits users to enter their body temperature manually, and it is recommended that you do so frequently and particularly if/when receiving an elevated risk level warning. Coming soon is the ability to automatically enter body temperature via a Bluetooth enabled thermometer.
Yes. The SickPredict™ App permits users to enter their blood oxygen saturation level. It will also automatically enter this information from the new Apple Watch 6 series.
No. But this is something that we are exploring for a future version.
The ability to anticipate a pending illness is dependent on the data from your wearable. The more data you have, the better the SickPredict™ App performs. Also, the accuracy improves over time with more data.
So, if you start with no data, it will take time for the App to learn about your specific biometrics and train itself to improve over time. In this scenario, it is not uncommon to see elevated risk levels. Do not be concerned. Your SickNumber™ will adjust over time.
The good news is that most people will have historical data if they have been wearing their watch.
Coming soon, the SickPredict™ App will have the ability to communicate with symptoms tracker data and use that data to provide you with useful information.
The current version of the SickPredict™ App is designed for Apple iOS and the Apple watch (version 2 or greater). For future versions we are considering other wearables and perhaps an Android version. However, no firm plans at this time.
Right now, the only way to refresh your historical data is to delete the SickPredict™ App and reinstall it. We are looking at additional ways to do that from within the app.
There is no age restriction for use of the SickPredict™ App. However, the related medical research suggests the accuracy is less reliable for individuals under 18 years old.
We have been receiving positive feedback from physicians. In fact, two of the users who provided testimonials for the website are doctors. In addition, researchers, including groups from Stanford University, Harvard, and other notable research organizations, say that wearable data can be used to detect and even predict illness and disease. Wearing a smart watch continuously generates an enormous amount of data that can be used to help analyze, communicate and predict your health. While we are now only beginning to scratch the surface of what will likely be the standard soon, the evidence is already compelling that this is a revolutionary and useful technology for the future of personalized health.
We have seen users report a wide range of illnesses including the common cold, Covid-19, Lyme disease, migraines, seasonal flu, infections, and blood clots. Due to the sophistication and complexity of the human body, we expect to see a wide range of illnesses and know that each person will respond differently.
Always refer to your healthcare professional for advice and consultation.
Yes, one of the benefits of using the SickPredict™ App is your ability to review your historical biometric data all in one place! You can graphically see how your vital health data has changed over time. Our users tell us this is one of the most useful and well-liked features of the SickPredict™ App.
The SickNumber™ is an estimate of your overall risk of getting sick. It is based on the biometric data from your watch. Your daily SickNumber™ ranges from 1-10 to help anticipate any upcoming changes in your health.
There are three levels of increasing risk:
- Low risk is 1-4, represented by GREEN
- Medium risk is 5-7, represented by YELLOW
- Elevated risk is 8-10, represented by RED
Low Risk (1-4) GREEN
- Based on your early warning indicators, your overall risk level of having an illness appears to be low. Continue to monitor this number for any changes, enter your daily temperature(s) and contact your healthcare provider should you have any concerns.
Medium Risk (5-7) YELLOW
- Based on your early warning indicators, your overall risk level appears to be slightly elevated. This may be an early indicator of a pending illness. Over the next 24-48 hours, increase your watchfulness, monitor your temperature daily and continue to pay close attention to all health symptoms for any health changes. Also continue use of your wearable to obtain your daily SickNumber™. Contact your healthcare provider should you have any concerns.
Elevated Risk (8-10) RED
- Based on your early indicators, your overall risk level appears to be elevated. If you are not already experiencing a changed health status, this may be an early indicator of a pending illness within the next 24-48 hours. Your SickNumber™ indicates that you may be getting an illness and could possibly be contagious. Increase your watchfulness, monitor your temperature closely and pay close attention to all health symptoms for any health changes. It is important to continue use of your wearable to obtain your daily SickNumber™. Contact your healthcare provider should you have any concerns.
Remember, your SickNumber™ is relative and very personal. You should get to know your range of SickNumbers™ and what they mean for your health. A SickNumber™ of 5.5 (Yellow) for one person may mean something different than a 5.5 (Yellow) for another person. It is best to look at your SickNumber™ in relation to your personal history. If you see a SickNumber™ of 5.5 (Yellow) on a regular basis and do not experience any health changes, that may be a common level for you. However, for someone else, it may always signal a pending health situation. So, get to know your SickNumber™ and learn what it might mean for you.
Also keep in mind the body is a very sophisticated machine and as a result, we are seeing an accuracy level of ~80+%. So, there will be times, when your SickNumber™ may not be 100% accurate.
Do Not Panic! If you receive a red or elevated risk level warning, it does not mean you are sick or are going to be sick. However, this may be an early indicator that your body is responding to a change in your health. Closely monitor your symptoms and be cautious as you may be contagious.
Take your body temperature and enter it into the App every 12 hours until the elevated warning is lowered.
If your SickNumber™ remains elevated over the next 24-48 hours and you have a body temperature greater than 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit, consult your healthcare professional, closely monitor your symptoms and be cautious as you may be contagious.
If your SickNumber™ elevates to Red and reduces to Yellow in the first 24 hours, continue to monitor your body temperature, but know that it could be because your body is fighting something or an environmental change has impacted your data. For example, if you start or stop taking some medications, it could impact your daily SickNumber™. If you are not consistently using your wearable, or stop using it for a period of time, it will also impact your SickNumber™.
Remember, this is an early warning indicator that has been research-tested BUT is not 100% accurate.
YES. If medications are changed, stopped or started, it may impact your health data and your personalized daily SickNumber™.
In addition to the human biology components, we have seen some environmental and technology related variables that could impact your SickNumber™.
These include, but are not limited to:
- Not consistently using your wearable
- Not wearing your wearable at night
- Permitting others to use your wearable
- Change in medications/medical procedures
- Air travel/changes in altitude
- Changes in daily routine
- Medical conditions
- Extreme workouts
- Increased stress
- Excessive alcohol consumption
- Inaccurate data in Apple Health
- The amount of historical health data
- Changing time zones (this is an open issue within Apple Health)
The SickNumber™ is based on your personal health data collected from your Apple watch. Although the algorithm is proprietary, we consider the following items:
- Active energy
- Body temperature
- Date of Birth
- Gender
- Heart rate
- Heart rate variability
- Oxygen saturation
- Resting energy
- Resting heart rate
- Sleep duration
- Walking steps
We set out to find a more proactive manner to determine if a person was getting sick before they had a temperature and other symptoms - which meant it was far too late.
We have found the amount of advance warning will vary depending on the illness. In some cases, it may be in sync with your symptoms. In other cases, we have seen up to a 2-day advance notice prior to experiencing any symptoms.
Equipped with this insight, even asymptomatic individuals can have advanced notice to be extra cautious so as not to infect others. Image the impact that the SickPredict™ App can have on the spread of the current pandemic.
All your health data is stored and encrypted in Apple Health. The SickPredict™ App requests your permission to read this data to calculate your Daily SickNumber™.
Stay tuned! Coming soon will be a telemedicine component to the SickPredict™ App.
The app is currently in English. There are plans to expand to include other languages.
